Outlook ndMail Workspace Panel

Since the release of ndMail 1.2 about a year ago, users of ndMail have been able to add NetDocuments navigation panels to Outlook. These panels provide fast and easy access to NetDocuments for both saving emails and viewing NetDocuments content.

If you are wondering why you haven’t noticed these panels it is for one of two reasons. First, the panels are a feature of ndMail and are only included if you subscribe to the ndMail service. Second, the panels have to specifically enabled via a Windows registry setting.

If you don’t know anything about the Windows Registry, or you don’t have access to it, your firm’s IT support can assist you. Here is the specific registry entry that needs to be added or adjusted. If it already exists, you may simply need to change the value from False to True to enable the panels.

  • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\NetDocuments\ndMail\ShowOutlookPanels
  • String Value - (REG_SZ)
  • Values
  • True = Enabled or False = Disabled (Default)

When you are finished, the registry entry will look like this.

Once enabled, you will see the NetDocuments panels on the left side of your Outlook interface in a resizable window below your list of Outlook folders in the navigation pane.
